Galleria

Multi-taskers and shopaholics rejoice in the glory of the Galleria and its 375-plus stores and grand ice rink, flanked by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Macy's. Akin to New York's Fifth Avenue or Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills--with shops like Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, Chanel, Gucci and Versace--the sprawling mall also has hip designer boutiques like Tory Burch and Henri Bendel, plus J. Crew, Lululemon and Aveda. The Galleria, stylized theGalleria and also known as the Houston Galleria, is an upscale mixed-use urban development and shopping mall located in the Uptown District of Houston, Texas, United States. The development consists of a retail complex, as well as the Galleria Office Towers complex,[7] two Westin hotels, and a private health club. The office towers and hotels are separately owned and managed from the mall. The anchor tenants are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Macy's. With 3 million square feet (280,000 m2) of space that includes 2,400,838 square feet (223,045.1 m2) of gross leasable area with 400 stores, the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas and the seventh largest shopping mall in the United States.Two hotels are located directly in the Galleria complex. The 400-room Houston Oaks Hotel opened in September 1971, soon after the opening of the first wing of the Galleria. The 500-room Galleria Plaza Hotel opened on November 18, 1977, soon after the opening the second wing. Both were managed from their opening by Western International Hotels. That chain was renamed Westin Hotels in 1981, and the hotels were renamed The Westin Galleria and The Westin Oaks in 1984. The Galleria has three office towers with Galleria Financial Center acting as the hub of the mall where the shops and offices share a common atrium with glass elevators and offices overlooking the mall below. The Galleria Financial Center is occupied by many financial institutions such as Merrill Lynch, UBS AG, Citigroup, law offices, financial services companies and energy trading companies. The other two office buildings are Post Oak Tower, and the Galleria Tower. Additionally, the Williams Tower is also connected to the mall.Houston offers to both tourists and locals alike a plethora of options for shopping; the city is littered with shopping centres, markets, boutiques, shops and all kinds of stores that sell a wide variety of items. Memorial city mall

Memorial City Mall is a large shopping mall in Houston, Texas, United States. It is approximately 11 miles (18 km) west of downtown Houston at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Gessner Road. The mall is in the Memorial City Management District, whose official legal name is the "Harris County Municipal Management District No. 1" under Chapter 3810 of the Texas Special District Local Laws Code. The mall is adjacent to the large Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. Constructed in the mid-1960s, the mall was renovated extensively in the early 2000s. It has since become one of the city's most popular malls. The anchor stores are American Girl, Old Navy, Sun & Ski Sports, Cinemark, JCPenney, Dillard's, Macy's, and Target. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Sears.When the Memorial City Mall was completed in 1966, it was a middle-market shopping venue that included a Sears store as its first anchor. The Memorial Theater, which was a single-screen cinema in operation since June 1962, was connected with the interior of the mall. A Montgomery Ward store opened in 1972 as the mall's second anchor store. Foley's opened a store in 1974 in the mall's new East Wing. Lord & Taylor opened a store in 1977 in the western side of the mall. With these additions, the mall had 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m2) of leasable space. Memorial City Mall was developed by MetroNational's founder, Joseph Johnson.

A Houston mainstay, Memorial City Mall is shiny, new and very shoppable after an extreme makeover that brought a wealth of new stores to its halls. Memorial City's newest stores, which opened in July 2006, include Old Navy, The Apple Store, and Aldo. Other Memorial City retail offerings include Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor Loft, Coach, Express, Foot Locker, J Jill, New York & Co., Sephora, Target, White House/Black Market, and more. Families will appreciate the food court with a beautiful Italian carousel, an NHL-regulation ice skating rink, a soft and cushy play castle and shopping wing designed just for the little ones.

Downtown Houston

Live music junkies and counting-down-the-minutes-to-lunch professionals gravitate to this area for its entertainment venues and vast variety of eateries. There's a restaurant for everyone in the expansive GreenStreet, where even the pickiest of office mates can find a dish that will strike their fancy. The Shops at Houston Center offers a great line-up of fast casual restaurants, stores and services within walking distance for the Downtowner on-the-go. And Downtown's capital of yum, Phoenicia Specialty Foods, is conveniently located here making grocery shopping a breeze for Downtown dwellers and visitors. Located at the epicenter of Downtown is Main Street Square which offers a change of pace and scenery from the office. Shopping is its first name, but this district has so much more to offer with pop-up performances, interactive experiences and community festivals complementing the spirit of the district.
